In this guide, we will take you through the steps to successfully install aluminium stacking doors at your home.

Understanding Aluminium Stacking Doors

Before diving into the installation process, it’s important to understand what exactly aluminium stacking doors are. These doors consist of multiple panels that slide and stack on top of each other when opened, providing a wide opening for access to outdoor spaces. They are popularly used in areas with large openings such as patios, balconies, or even as room dividers. For larger openings where sliding functionality is preferred, aluminium sliding doors Melbourne can also be considered as an alternative to stacking door configurations.

Our Company’s Step-by-step Installation Process

At our company, we follow a tried and tested process to ensure proper installation of aluminium stacking doors. Follow these steps for a seamless installation experience:

Measure your opening: The first step is to measure the width and height of your door opening accurately. This will help you determine the size of the aluminium stacking door set you need. For openings with unusual dimensions, custom-made sliding doors Melbourne may be an option worth considering.

1. Prepare the door frame: Ensure that your door frame is level and plumb before starting the installation. Any unevenness can result in difficulties when installing the tracks.
2. Install tracks: Place the bottom track on the floor, making sure it is level and secured with screws. Then, attach the head track above the opening. Both tracks should be parallel and level with each other.
3. Install panels: Place the first panel into the bottom track and secure it with screws. Attach the rollers to the top of the panel, making sure they are properly aligned with the head track.
4. Install remaining panels: Repeat the same process for the remaining panels, placing them one on top of the other in the bottom track and securing them with screws. Make sure all panels are aligned and level with each other.
5. Install handles: Once all panels are in place, you can install the handles on each panel for easy opening and closing.
6. Test the doors: Before sealing and finishing, test the doors to ensure they open and close smoothly without any obstructions or misalignments. Adjust as needed.
7. Seal and finish: Finally, seal any gaps with caulking and finish off the installation by screwing in cover strips to conceal any exposed screws.

When planning the surrounding openings, coordinating aluminum doors and windows can also help maintain a consistent look across connected areas of the home.
